Celebrating that I no longer suffer from Cynophobia.
It may be a small thing to some, but I celebrate that I finally lost my abnormal fear of dogs. Not all of them, of course, but the ones with a wagging tail, tongue hanging out, eyes pleading “just give me the darn bone.” It was due to volunteering at the animal shelter where I finally realized what delightful creatures dogs are. Mind you, that’s coming from a “cat lady.”

Congrats! That's a great thing. I am more of a dog person than a cat person myself. We have a huge lab/Great Dane mix :) He loves to curl up in my lap... or try too lol.

Thanks for stopping by, Sarah.
DeleteA Great Dane is a wondrous thing indeed...haven't tackled one yet...but the shelter once received a mix between a Bernese Mountain Dog and an Anatolian Shepherd--aptly named Moose. I tell you, he had dinnerplates for paws. Not only was he big but he was truly great.

Aw yay, dogs really are great (if a bit slobbery!)
ReplyDeleteGlad your volunteering has lost your fear of dogs! And how lovely to volunteer at a shelter!
ReplyDeleteBelieve me, it was an eye-opening experience. Of course, it also led me to adopt the "love of my life" cat. Correction: Pasha adopted me!
DeleteWith all the horrific news about even more horrific people, there are those unsung heros who volunteer and contribute unwaveringly to the welfare of animals. Their contributions are heartwarming.
So great you've lost that fear, but kept the fear of the dogs that should be feared! :) Dogs are wonderful creatures. Writer’s Mark
