Poor Pasha. He does not know yet that his furry little butt was just placed on some nasty lists of three infamous Goodreads trolls, along with all my other books. It is not his fault that his author uses “condescending” words—such as perhaps “unpublished” as I clearly labelled one of my novellas that nevertheless got shelved under “do-not-read.” Duh!
As far as authors go, I am a nobody but I do write real books with big words, alas almost no sex, but in complete sentences. Few sales here and there, and no controversial discussions anywhere about any subject on any site. So, how did these admirable gatekeepers zero in on me? I haven’t the faintest idea. E tu, Brute? Or maybe they hate "the other Borgs," the ones from outer space.
At least, I found that I am in good company. Many others had to endure their pranks condoned by the GR site. Besides, I trust that the overwhelming “To-Be-Read” listings will wipe out this sorry shadow on my writer’s heart. I am thankful for my readers and supporters.
And, if it is still true that “any publicity is good publicity,” I should even be grateful to these misguided individuals as well. This old gal could use a little controversy; it keeps the juices flowing.

Why is there evil in the world, and why are there hackers and virus spreaders? I don't think the culprits know themselves. The randomness is as frustrating as it is comforting.
ReplyDeleteWait out the storm, this too will pass and hopefully the unjustified nasty comments will be removed in time and Pasha can be cheerful again.
My thoughts are with you!
Christoph
You are a wise friend to remind me that, living in the US "tornado alley," I need to hunker down in the saferoom of my soul and wait out this tempest in a tea cup. After all, I rode out much bigger storms in KHAMSIN and SIROCCO.
DeletePasha already woke up his happy self again (early, too).
Your kind thoughts are so appreciated.
I just read the reviews for Pasha on Amazon and they were really great. This is going on my to-be-purchased list.
ReplyDeleteWe have two rescue kitties: Kitty, from my husband's work. She was starving and wandered into a warehouse. And Roo, named after the Pooh character because when she was a kitten, her legs and feet were much bigger than the rest of her. She wandered up to my sister in law while she was out pottying her dogs. She wasn't even 6 weeks old. Now, they're 5 and 3.
I'm sorry it took so long to get over to visit. Life has been crazy lately. I love reading about all the rescue animals!
Great to meet Kitty and Roo. Maybe we should arrange for some "play time" for them here on Pasha's blog...we'd love to write about them and their rescue story.
