For today's Blog-Hop, I am celebrating that my sweet little house is getting power-washed and re-stained. As with everything around here, a good handiman is not easy to come by (nor any man, for that matter--but that's another story).
After a seven-year itch to move (again...anywhere with sun and sea), I am now quite content to be here; it is truly a writer's haven. Quiet and serene with beautiful scenery.
When the flaming-orange tom was brought to the local animal shelter, he was messy. And he stank. That darn cat never took his eyes off me. They were not quite green and not quite yellow; they were round, and alert, and reflected light like precious stones set in orange gold. ‘Don’t even think about it,’ I told him. What a wonderful home!
ReplyDeleteWhat a BEAUTIFUL home!
ReplyDeleteIt looks absolutely lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour home looks beautiful - very very jealous :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone. When I think that I made an offer on it from a picture on the Internet (living in San Diego at the time), I shudder what could have awaited me after a three-day trip - with a sick cat and the car loaded to the gills (my furniture came three weeks later). Instead, I found a resort/retirement community. The house in on a golf course, with street lights and underground utilities; and the nicest people. Everyone volunteers for something: Library, plantings around town, animal shelter, theatre, concerts, and the arts. Impetuous soul that I am, I was really lucky.
ReplyDeleteAnyone about animals is tops with me. And then this beautiful house, wow! You have lots to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteYour house looks absolutely idyllic! I'm sort of seething with jealousy over here....
