Celebrating Oktoberfest

This is part of a "Celebration Blog-Hop"

Today, we are celebrating Oktoberfest in our little town.
Of course, it's nothing like "back home," when the beer flowed, the songs reverberated through the square, and the polizei was busy collecting car keys from people too 'happy' to drive. (It was a small village and everybody knew or was related to each other - it also wasn't far to walk - or toddle - home).

Here, in Arkansas, it's quite different. While there is a valiant
effort with hot dogs and pretzels, there is NO BEER. You see,
I live in one of the dry counties.

Instead, we have a cookie sale that benefits our little
Animal Shelter. Something to celebrate, after all.

And now, I have to go collect some kittens from the shelter
to take to the square where they'll romp in a nice big cage.
Hopefully, there will be somebody to adopt the sweet little critters.

  1. So, did anyone adopt the kittens? If they passed the Inge test, they were charming indeed.

Do hop over to my blog, where I have mentioned your giveaway, though why I should push that cad is beyond me! ...except that he's such a charming one!

    Ciao!

    1. Thanks for the plug for my bad boy Edward on your blog, Diana. He keeps sneaking his way into all my books; what a cad indeed.

As to the kittens, it poured buckets. So we decided not to expose them to the weather. The other vendors fled into our wonderful large conference center - no kitties allowed. Sold a lot of cookies, though, as a fundraiser for the shelter. And, yes, they are so sweet. I do love my own two cats, but once in a while I need that "kitten fix."
