Now, here is a great (and long-lasting) alternative: give the gift of Reading (and Learning, opening up some awesome worlds to your kids - and yourselves, for that matter).

If you wanted people to pick reading over kittens and puppies, you shouldn't have picked such adorable pictures! Now, even I want a kitten or puppy! LOL But I'm sure people will get your point and do the right thing. ;)

DeleteThe gift of writing is the best gift anyone can give a child. And I say this not as a writer, but a reader. If not for books, I'd be dead, several times over.
